Recently Jen Powell, the owner and hair traffic controller extraordinaire of the Hairports Wash and Blow Dry Bar, hosted a #LifeofaBlowout contest! The goal? To see how many days her blowout would last and to share how she extended the life of her blowout. Thanks to all those who joined her and shared how you extend the life of your blowout.
How long was Jen about to keep her blowout looking fresh?
6 days!! Yes, her blowout lasted all week long!
Along the way, Jen gave lots of awesome tips for making your blowout last all week.
The number one thing you need to make your blowout last:
Dry shampoo! Jen shared each day that dry shampoo is the way to go for keeping your hair fresh and clean while extending your blowout.
Here is what she did each day:
Day 1: Jen got a fresh NY Straight blowout. The NY Straight is Jen’s go-to destination style.
Day 2: She was able to keep the NY Straight for this day, too, because of dry shampoo! And you would never know she used it! It looked amazingly fresh.
Day 3: Jen added a Bahama braid from ear to ear across the top of the head and a simple pony. This is great for keeping everything together on a humid day!
Day 4: Jen kept the braid but traded the pony for Miami Beach tousled and wavy in the back. A very brief curling iron in the back created the waves. And again…dry shampoo!
Day 5: Jen traded the ear to ear pony with a cute front-to-back braid gathered into a pony. She wrapped some of her hair over the hair tie to hide it from view. Nothing fancy, but still fresh and clean.
Day 6: Welcome to the weekend! She kept the pony with a braid for this day, too.
Wow! Her blowout lasted all week long! And it looked clean and fresh every day!
